What type of hair is Human Hair wigs made of?
The types of human hair that is used to make wigs are: Yak, Remi, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, and European hair. Chinese or Indian hair is the most common human hair used in the wig industry because they are stronger nature and thicker in diameter. These hairs can also withstand the harsh chemical process that is used to make the hair look shiny, smooth and tangle free.

How is the hair obtained to make wigs or hair pieces?
100% Human hair is obtained from individuals in such places as: Indonesia, Asia, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium or Turkey. Factories contract people in certain villages, or monasteries to grow hair for a specified period of time. Under the contract, individuals are asked to follow a strict diet full on vitamins and minerals to produce a healthy batch of hair. When the contract expires, a representative from the factory retrieves the hair to have it properly processed for the making of wigs or hairpieces.

What is a Lace Front wig? Lace Front wigs are units that have strands of hair individually knotted to a nylon or polyester mesh material that is constructed along the frontal area of the wig (some full cap and/or outer perimeter). The natural looking foundation is undetectable and disappears as it touched the skin. It is structured to simulate hair growing out of the skin.

Who should wear Lace Front wigs? Lace Front wigs can be worn by anyone. They are often worn by celebrities for fashion, but hair loss patients also benefit from the unit due to the natural hairline appearance.

What is Remy hair? Remy hair is a superior human hair grade that is collected from a hair donor. The cuticle layer of the hair remains in tack, therefore the hair is silky soft with a subtle wave pattern. The hair is then hand-tied to a wig in the same direction as it is on a human head. The look of the wig is very natural, easy to manage and does not tangle.

What is Indian hair? Indian human hair is obtained from individuals that live in India and is the closest quality in texture to European hair. The hair is finer and softer than most Asian hair. The length, texture and cost make this hair the most favorable with the making of wigs and hairpieces.

What is European Hair? European hair ranges from very fine to coarse. This superior grade of hair can be purchased in virgin or chemically treated.

What does the phase “baby hair” mean in regards to a Lace Front wig? Baby hair is fine short hairs that are added to the hair line area of a lace front wig.

Are Katour Line Wigs comfortable to wear?
All of our wigs have an open weave stretch construction which allows air to circulate through the scalp. The ventilation of the cap construction allows the heat to escape for a cool comfortable feel.

How do I know if a new color will look good on me?
Somehow nature seems to give us the best hair color to compliment our complexion. Unless you are looking for a totally new look (just for fun!), we recommend that you stick with a color in the basic range as your natural color. Try choosing a color that is one or two shades lighter or darker then your natural hair color.

Can I purchase any synthetic or mixed fibered wigs from your company?
All of our wigs are 100% Human Hair. We do not carry any synthetic or mixed fibered wigs in our collection.

My wig has a strong musty odor coming from it. What should I do?
A musty odor indicates that it is heavily soiled with perspiration or dirt, and it's time for the wig to be cleaned. For proper wig maintenance and revitalization, our Wig Care Service would be a great service of choice to expand the life span of your wig. While your wig is being serviced, thoroughly clean and condition your natural hair. For extra clean natural hair, try adding a tablespoon of baking soda to two tablespoon of your regular shampoo.

How do I pick the right style?
If you are thinking of trying a completely different style, we recommend you select a style that will compliment your face shape; so that the overall result is a silhouette. For example, if you have a round face, try a style with a fuller top and sleeker sides, to thin out your face. If you have a long face, try a style that has less volume on the top, and is fuller on the sides. An oval face can wear almost any style.

The hair on my wig fly's away. How do I tame my wig hair?
For fly away wig hair, mist the wig with Wig Luster to tame the loose hairs.

How do I make the wig look like the photograph?
It's easy! Your wig will come carefully packaged. Remove the wig from the packaging, and hold the wig by the nape area of the wig (where the tag is), giving the wig a gentle shake. This will bring out the basic style of your wig. You can also adjust the style by putting it on your head, and tame the hair with your fingertips or a styling comb (avoid rough brushing and combing, it can destroy your style).

Why do I need to use wig spray on my wig? Can I use regular hair spray?
The use of wig spray is a personal choice. If you choose to use a wig spray, we highly recommend the Brandywine Wig Spray. You can purchase this product by going to the Wig Accessories page. We DO NOT recommend the use of regular hair spray. A wig spray is formulated to have less alcohol, and is less damaging to wigs. Regular hair spray accumulates on the wig hair, which forms a heavy build up.

How long will my wig last?
This, too, is dependent upon many things: how often it is worn, sprayed, the climate you live in, how well you take care of it, etc..

Can I send my wig back to be cleaned and restyled?
Yes, Katour Line Wig Care Service is available to all our customers (see Care Service). Our Wig Care Service is not available to other wig product brands. Note: Your wig can not be serviced if it has been altered from its original style formation.

Does your company style wigs that are purchased else where?
Unfortunately, we do not style wigs that are not purchased from our company.

How long does it take to receive my order?
Standard shipping orders are shipped in 7 to 14 business days. For Express Mail, if the order is placed before 12:00pm, the order is shipped in 24 hours of the next business day, after 12:00pm 48 hours. For International and custom orders (see Policy).

What if I do not like the wig?
If your wig is not to your liking, we will gladly exchange your wig unlimited times until you are completely satisfied. However if the wig has been worn, altered or the tags are removed, the wig cannot be exchanged (Sorry, we do not give refunds).
