You’ll get used to how your hair behaves when you’re cutting it and the change is less drastic so even if things go wrong, it won’t end up a complete disaster. When you’re cutting it, get a good mirror and lighting and keep your helper around for the difficult bits. With damp, straight hair, start out with small cuts, not large ones and work your way upwards. With practice, you can graduate to more difficult hair cuts and the internet is full of helpful instructions on how to achieve a specific cut.
