How to cut hair

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to cut hair yourself, whether it’s to make money by cutting other people’s hair or save money by cutting your own, it’s not as difficult as you think it is. The most important thing to realize is that it needs practice like any other skill. Most importantly, if you’re doing it for the first time, you need good lighting and help. Anything is easier if you have an extra pair of hands. Also, make sure you get a good hair cutting set. This should include at the very least some clippers and a great pair of sharp scissors that can actually get the job done. Of course, you must wash your hair before starting since all hairdressers do it for a reason. Washed, non sticky hair cuts better and makes the job a lot easier. It also makes sense to start from the ends, not the roots. Before you try out some complicated hair cut, it’s always recommended to start out with a simple cut and trim. You’ll get used to how your hair behaves when you’re cutting it and the change is less drastic so even if things go wrong, it won’t end up a complete disaster. When you’re cutting it, get a good mirror and lighting and keep your helper around for the difficult bits. With damp, straight hair, start out with small cuts, not large ones and work your way upwards. With practice, you can graduate to more difficult hair cuts and the internet is full of helpful instructions on how to achieve a specific cut.
